Kevin Johnson – Owner/Chief Instructor
Kevin Johnson is the owner and chief instructor at River Valley Survival and a certified instructor at Campcraft Outdoors. A lifelong outdoorsman, he spent his childhood exploring the creeks, streams, and timber of the Illinois River Valley, gaining hands-on experience that shaped his passion for survival skills.
Since 2011, Kevin has been dedicated to teaching and sharing his love of wilderness survival. He further refined his skills in the Outdoor Leadership and Wilderness Skills program at Bethlehem Outdoor College, graduating in 2019.
Today, Kevin keeps himself busy crafting high-quality survival gear in his woodshop, running his online store, creating engaging educational content, and leading immersive classes and events across Central Illinois. He is also a frequent instructor at outdoor gatherings throughout the Midwest and has shared his knowledge on television, helping a broader audience develop essential survival skills.
